The Guam Contractors Association (GCA) is your “key” to the construction industry for building and civil construction contractors in Guam and the Pacific Rim. The Guam Contractor’s Association (GCA) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the common business interests of its member-contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, equipment leasers and other businesses related to the construction industry here on Guam and Micronesia. Its objectives are to improve the prestige of the industry by stimulating interest among its members to provide quality workmanship and safety consciousness in all aspects of the industry. To disseminate to its members, vital information relative to the construction industry on Guam and to strive for the prosperity of the construction industry that would best serve our community.

It is GCA’s sole & prime purpose to represent the industry to Government, major clients and relevant stakeholders by advocating for the industry at all levels of government. Leveraging these relationships has resulted in successfully influencing changes in legislation and the development of programs that impact our members’ bottom line.

The Guam Contractors Association functions as a regional association of construction contractors, design-builders, construction program managers, maintenance contractors, suppliers of products and services to the engineering and construction industry. GCA is an affiliate chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) and members of the association participate in ABC national recognition programs like the Safety Training Evaluation Program (STEP), Excellence in Construction Awards, Accredited Quality Contractor, and National Excellence Award in Safety and others. GCA is also an Accredited Training Sponsor under the National Center for Construction Education and Research. Our Accredited Training Units includes the GCA Trades Academy in Guam, Northern Marianas Trades Institute in the CNMI and the Pohnpei State Government in the Federated States of Micronesia. GCA is recognized by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Safety Office as the training provider for the EM385-1-1 40-hour Construction Safety Workshop for Contractors.

“Welcome to the Guam Contractors Association! Since our inception in 1959 with just seven members, we’ve flourished into a vibrant construction community of approximately 500 dedicated members.
At GCA, we take pride in our role representing Guam’s construction industry, as more than 90% of Guam’s construction industry stakeholders are members of the GCA.
Since 1995, we’ve been an affiliate chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. Through this partnership, GCA members have garnered national attention and recognition, earning accolades and numerous national awards of Excellence in Construction and Excellence in Safety.
In 2006, our board of directors made a significant investment of $200,000 to establish the GCA Trades Academy. This initiative proved transformative, having trained more than 5,000 students. The GCA Trades Academy provides a nationally recognized industry skills training center (credentialed by NCCER), supports U.S. Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship training programs, and enhances the skilled labor needs of construction contractors and related industries doing business in Guam. Training programs include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, construction craft laborer, safety, project management, welding, and heavy equipment operation. GCA Trades Academy classes are open to all abilities and levels.
The GCA offers comprehensive safety training and construction management courses. Additionally, we host various activities and events aimed at career exploration among middle and high school students, promoting and championing careers in construction.
Join us at the Guam Contractors Association as our members not only build structures for commercial, residential, education, government and military, but also opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Together, we are … “Building Guam Today for a Better Tomorrow.” “
